Tonight's theme is RED. Wear a red shirt or something red. We'll see you at Roosevelt Park at 6:30p, rain or shine.  Our route will be the Old Town Route with a jaunt to Collyer Park.

PS - I'm looking for ideas for future themes.

Longmont Bike Night 12th Season Launches 5/13/2015 (Tomorrow)

It's back! This year marks Bike Night's 12th season. Over the years Bike Night has grown to be not just Longmont's, not just Boulder County's but also ColoRADo's largest family friendly weekly cruiser bicycle ride.

Come join us tomorrow night at 6:30pm at Roosevelt Park, on the east end under the flagpoles. We do a family friendly safety chat between 6:30pm & 6:40 - a quick welcome and we're off riding. We will ride the Old Town West route with a hokie pokie flash mob to get things moving!

See you tomorrow night!

Wanna have fun on a bike? Wanna meet new people? Wanna do the hokie pokie?

Well here’s what it’s all about.

Colorado’s oldest & largest weekly family-friendly cruiser ride is back! Starting May 13th, at 6:30pm Bike Night will take to the streets of Old Town Longmont. Join us this summer to tour Longmont’s best tree lined neighborhoods and greenways!

2015 will mark Longmont Bike Night’s 11th year. It’s hard to believe Bike Night has been around that long. Since 2004 more than 11,000 riders have participated in Bike Night.

Cumulatively those riders rode more than 11,000 miles, burning more than a million calories.

While this sounds intense – (it's not) each ride is only about an hour. We ride approximately 6miles (sometimes a mile or two longer) burning approximately 105 calories (yes, someone strava’d a couple of rides), and we roll along at about 6 – 8mph.

If you don’t know what “strava” is – good. You’re perfect for Bike Night. Baklava is a great substitute for Strava in my humble opinion.

May 13th we’ll meet at Roosevelt Park under the flags at the east end of the park. A great place to park (if you’re driving) is in the RTD lot on the east end of the park off Coffman Street.

Also May 13th we'll kick off the 12th Season with the Hokie Pokie! A flash mob at Martini's Bistro. Make plans now and view the Hokie Pokie on youtube - or something.

New this year we’ll have “Pre-Bike Nights” at various establishments. Our first Pre-Bike Night will happen on May 13th at the Longs Peak Grill at Longs Peak Avenue and Main Street. Come early to hang out and chat. These pre-start points will move around as the season progresses.

We will see you a week from Wednesday!

Here’s to another great Bike Night Season!
